Como siempre hacemos hincapié, cuando aprendes un idioma, hay mucho más que saber decir lo que quieres decir. Lo que realmente debemos buscar cuando estudiamos un idioma, es ser capaces de conectar con las personas a un nivel mayor y sentirnos cómodos al expresarnos en ese idioma.

As we always emphasize, when you learn a language, there is much more than being able to say what you want to say. What we really look for when we study a language is being able to connect with people on a higher level and feeling comfortable when expressing ourselves in that language.
Al comenzar a aprender inglés, todo es nuevo y constantemente sentimos que mejoramos y avanzamos. Pero llega un momento en que nos damos cuenta de que al hablar, usamos siempre las mismas expresiones porque en ellas nos sentimos seguro y nos estancamos en un inglés correcto. Hoy te vamos a dar algunos consejos para que esto no pase. Queremos que os expreséis mejor y disfrutéis más de vuestras conversaciones en inglés, en definitiva, que habléis inglés “like a boss”.

When we start learning English everything is new, and we constantly feel we are improving and moving forward. But there comes a time when we realize that when speaking, we always use the same expressions because we feel safe in them and we get stuck in a basic level of English. Today we are going to give you some tips so this doesn´t happen. We want you to be able to express yourself better and enjoy your conversations in English even more and ultimately to speak English “like a boss”.
TIP 1: Cuando hables con un nativo, presta atención a los idioms y expresiones que usa. Apuntalas y luego búscalas, por ejemplo en Urban Dictionary/ When talking to an English native-speaker, pay attention to the idioms and expressions he uses. Write them down and then look them up, for example in Urban Dictionary.
TIP 2: Cuando estés escribiendo un texto, preparando un writing… busca sinónimos de las palabras que usaría. De ese modo, ampliaras tu vocabulario y tendrás una mayor riqueza del lenguaje. Para ello os recomendamos usar Wordreference donde todos los significados de palabras se explican con ejemplo, common collocations con esa palabra y una amplia lista de sinónimo/ When you’re typing text, preparing a text… search for synonyms for the words you would use. This way, you will expand your vocabulary and have a greater richness of the language. For this we recommend you to use Wordreference where all the meanings of words are explained by an example and you can also find common collocations with that word and an extensive list of synonyms.

Puedes hacer lo mismo con “nice”, “good”, “awesome”, “like”… ¡Búscalos! ¡Ya verás la de opciones que existen!/ Have a look at just some of the synonyms of beautiful. You can do the same with “nice”, “good”, “awesome”, “like” … Look them up! You’ll see the options that exist!
TIP 3: Busca y aprende idioms y expresiones en inglés. Te sentirás más cómodo y fluido al hablar inglés. Menos como un robot y más como un inglés nativo./ Look up and learn English idioms and expressions. You will feel more comfortable and fluent speaking English–less like a robot and more like a native speaker.
