Como sabéis nuestro Topic del mes de Junio ha sido Money & shopping. Un tema que nos ha parecido muy interesante para tratar dadas las fechas. Muchos os iréis de vacaciones este verano, aprovecharéis para viajar, conocer lugares nuevos, gente nueva, practicar vuestro inglés… Y pensamos que este vocabulario y estructuras os vendría muy pero que muy bien.
Pero hoy lo que queremos es mandaros este mensaje. Este verano… Sé valiente. Toma riesgos. Nada puede sustituir la experiencia.

As you know our Topic of the Month in June was Money & shopping. We thought this would be a very useful topic for you during this time of the year. Many of you will be going on holidays really soon. You will use this time to travel, seeing new places, meeting new people, practice your English … And we think this vocabulary and structures would very helpful.
But today what we want is to send you this message. This summer … Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience
Y es que esto no es solo una frase inspiracional más. Según un estudio llevado a cabo por el doctor Thomas Gilovich, profesor de Psicología de la Universidad de Cornell durante más de 20 años: la gente que gasta dinero en experiencias en lugar de cosas es mucho más feliz./ This is not just another inspirational quote. According to a study conducted by Dr. Thomas Gilovich, professor of psychology at Cornell University for more than 20 years people that spend money on experiences instead of things, are much happier.
¿Y por qué es mucho mejor gastar dinero en experiencias?/ And why is it better to spend money on experiences?
Las experiencias no se pueden cuantificar
Las cosas materiales tienen siempre un precio y una fecha de expiración. Sin embargo, el valor de una experiencia es absolutamente subjetivo y JAMÁS expira. Las experiencias permanecen por siempre en el recuerdo, es algo que no expira y nadie te puede quitar.

Experiences can’ t be quantified
Material things always have a price and an expiration date. In contrast, the value of an experience is quite subjective and it NEVER expires. Experiences remain forever in our memories and they are something that does not expire and nobody can take away from us.

Experiences teach you many things about life or about yourself that you didn’t know and most likely would have never learned them any other way. When planning a trip, when having to handle yourself in a different country … you are at the same time doing an entirely practical master in adaptation, organization, problem solving, empathy, tolerance, patience, humility… All these experiences will never leave us, they will stay with us and become an essential part of our identity, helping us to discover what we really like and are passionate about.

Estas son las razones por las que os animamos a gastar dinero en experiencias este verano, a veces no es de hecho necesario gastar grandes cantidades, simplemente invertir bien. Os invitamos a que os hagáis lo más ricos que podáis en experiencia en estos meses, a que recópiléis muchas experiencias divertidas, desafiantes y estimulantes para que cuando volváis en septiembre os sintáis mucho más ricos y felices y retoméis (o empecéis) las clases de Englishcafe con toda la energía del mundo.

In fact it’s not necessary to spend large amounts of money on them, you just need to invest your money thoughtfully. We invite you to make yourself as rich as you can in experience during these months so you compile a good number of fun, challenging and stimulating experiences and so that when you return in September you feel much richer and happy and so that you come back filled with energy to continue (or to start) studying English with us.
