Hoy vamos a ver unas cuantas expresiones que incluidas en el momento justo (y sin abusar de ellas) te harán subir automáticamente de nivel en tu comando del inglés/ Let’s look at a few expressions that, when included at the right time (without abusing them), will automatically raise your level and command of English:
What’s Up
Conocida como el primer saludo molón en inglés, sería el equivalente a “¿que tal?”, “¿cómo va la cosa?”.
Conviene recordar que esta pregunta, aunque única y exclusivamente deba usarse en ambientes informales, es más una formalidad que otra cosa. Lo explicamos, quien saluda con “What’s up?” no espera una respuesta detallada por nuestra parte, es simplemente una forma de saludar. Lo normal es responder “not much”, “same old”, “all good”.

Known as the first cool greeting in English, it means “¿que tal?”, “¿cómo va la cosa?”
It should be remembered that this question is only meant to be use used in informal settings and that it is more a formality than anything else. If someone greets you with “What’s up?”, he does not expect a detailed response on our part; it’s simply a way of greeting. Typically, we answer “not much”, “same old”, “all good”.

Esta expresión se utiliza para ver si la otra persona, “nos sigue” en la conversación. También sirve para expresar empatía con nuestro interlocutor. En este caso diríamos: “I know what you mean” o “I hear you” (te entiendo).

Otra variante de lo anterior sería “I see” que significa literalmente “ya veo”, “entiendo”.

Esta frase la usamos para animar alguien a hacer o intentar algo por primera vez. Significa “¡Dale una/ la oportunidad!”.

Bueno, ya tenéis unas cuantas expresiones para empezar a practicar, pero recuerda que lo importante es establecer una rutina para aprender cada día más: fijaros cuando escuchéis cualquier audio en inglés, escuchad atentamente, buscad las expresiones al llegar a casa o en el móvil… Y sobretodo no tengáis miedo a usarlas. Seguro que váis a cometer fallos y probablemente generéis alguna situación divertida alguna vez, pero a eso nos referimos con los divertiros mientras aprendéis inglés. ¡Atrévete! Sólo así avanzarás 🙂

Well, now you have a few expressions to start practicing, but remember that what really matters is that you establish a routine to learn more of them every day: pay attention when you listen to any audios in English, listen to expressions carefully, look them up when you get home or in your phone … And above all do not be afraid to use them.
